Lanzarote in the Canary Islands is an ideal destination for anyone seeking a good value villa vacation. As here tourists can enjoy a large selection of rental options – usually at prices that are way cheaper in relation to comparable properties in other holiday hotspots. As a result of the fact that the holiday season here extends all year round – whilst the islands tourist sector is very well developed.
As one of the seven Canary Islands Lanzarote basks in delightful semi tropical weather, with sunshine predominating all year round. This is due to the fact that the islands all lie close to the coast of Africa and the Tropic of Cancer. Producing very little in the way of precipitation too – which makes the island look quite barren in appearance, with little in the way of trees and plants.
This rather arid scenery is made all the more unusual by the fact that much of the islands interior is covered in lava – the legacy of major eruptions in the 18th century. Away from the volcanic region Lanzarote´s beauty is more conventional and in keeping with other holiday islands. With around 100 beaches sprinkled around the coastline and three modern and well developed holiday resorts for visitors to enjoy. Which is also the location most of the top choices of Lanzarote holiday villas ,holiday apartments and holiday bungalows.
The main resort on the island is called Puerto del Carmen – which is situated in close proximity to the main airport and which boasts plenty of good quality beaches. This in part explains its popularity with visitors – who have been enjoying holidays here since the 1970´s. Whilst also boasting a great selection of bars and restaurants and plenty of nightlife.
As a result villas are in demand as a result – with prices starting at about the €500 mark for properties with private pools.
After Puerto del Carmen Playa Blanca is the islands second most popular resort. Having expanded rapidly since it was first developed in the early 1990´s. And today it is proving especially popular with tourists sleeking good value self catering accommodation thanks to the fact that apartments and villas here offer excellent value for money.
Lanzarote can be enjoyed as a holiday destination at any time of the year. But some months are better than others – with the most unreliable weather usually experienced during February and March.
Must see attractions on the island include for example The Cesar Manrique Foundation -This ingenious feat of architecture was designed to illustrate just what could be achieved to other sceptical islanders.
