How on earth does Mario Kart make someone think about going on a luxury cruise?

There are a couple of computer games that I have played recently that have led me to seriously think about going on one of those brilliant luxury cruises I have heard so much about.

First of all is the obvious one- Cruise Ship Tycoon
You can blame the blog on this game as it is this one that gave me the idea to think about going on a luxury cruise. The major purpose of this game is to show you how to run a cruise ship. This means you get to go anywhere on the ship from the swimming pool to the restaurant and casino. This is brilliant as in the ships featured in the game are all based on real ships which makes it perfect as you can see exactly what you can do on a ship without even having to visit a travel agent or website. In this game you get to look after the ship from a managers prosepective which if you are going on a holiday you really don’t care about however I found it to be very interesting as you get to go to places in the ship you normally wouldn’t be allowed in.

Second is Splinter Cell Double Agent
This game shouldn’t really make me wan’t to go on a cruise holiday as the point of the mission is to plant a bomb on the ship but not to worry as it is for killing terrorists and not innocent people. When I was playing this game it is safe to say the graphics are so good I didn’t even need to go and look at a website to see what a luxury ship looked like which is one of the reason this game is on the list. As well as this there are parts of the mission based in the casino, bars and the giant swimming pool which really is brilliant as again this level was based on the structure of a real cruise ship.

Mario Kart Double Dash
I know it’s mad but there is a level within the game in which you get to drive on a luxury cruise ship and well the truth is these ships are big enough to be able to drive a small kart on so why not put it on the list? You could if there was no-one on board which is true of this game.

So there you have it and it gets even better as I am actually going to book a holiday with Regent Cruises today so all I can say is thank you gaming!
