Caribbean cruises are offered by a wide variety of cruise lines. It can be difficult to know what the best cruise to take is. So you can have the cruise of dreams, each cruise line offers a variety of unique experiences to make it special. It depends upon what your interests are as to what Caribbean cruise will be best for you. May I tell you about one of my very favorite cruises? Having been on several cruises I would have to say that my favorite was the Heart of the Caribbean cruise from Royal Caribbean. This eight day seven night cruise was filled with activities and fun! In my opinion it is the best Caribbean cruise.
The Heart of the Caribbean cruise travels for eight exciting days beginning in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Everyday is an adventure on and off the ship.
The very first stop is in Oranjestad, Aruba. Oranjestad or “Orangetown” is the Dutch capital of this very well known city. The Dutch architecture is delightful and colorful to the eye. There are many scenic sights, including the California Lighthouse, that you can explore here in this city. Oranjestad also has beautiful beaches and snorkeling is a great adventure.
Willemstad, Curacao, off the Venezuelan coast is the next place you visit. Curacao is the largest and most populated of three “ABC Islands” (Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao). It is still rich in Dutch culture and architecture though it gained autonomy in 1954 from the Netherlands. In Willemstad you can explore the Hato Caves and underground lake there. It is quite amazing site to see this undergound world. Some find the trolley-train enjoyable to take.
You will also stop in Philipsburg, Saint Maarten located in the northeast Caribbean. The Dutch and the French split this island. The Dutch side is known for its jewelry, beaches, and festive nightlife. On the French side of the island you can find lots of shops to browse in and the well known nude beaches. The island has numerous duty-free shops and boutiques so shoppers love to come here. Jewelry, leather goods, tobacco, designer clothes are some of the things you find here.
Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands is the last stop for this fabualous cruise. There is much to see and do in Saint Thomas which has been purchased by the United States. Here you will find white sand beaches, excellent shopping, and great dining. While you are in Saint Thomas you do not want to miss the spectacular view of Magens Bay from the very famous Drakes Seat.
I’m sure you can see why I think this is the best Caribbean cruise to take. This is truly a memorable cruise with all the beautiful and exciting stops as well as all the onboard activities that are provided. Welcome aboard!
